Comments: So glad someone has taken action - I have heard several horror stories about these poles and am at a loss to understand why they are still for sale. This is NOT Ann Summers' reps fault, it is their job to promote products but it's not made clear that these poles are NOT for serious pole fitness purposes!!Flag -

Name: Chris Elgie on Jan 21, 2013Comments: my girlfriend is a pole fitness dancer and dance instructor. My cousin's partner is also a pole fitness instructor. Both have criticised the unsuitability of the Carmen Electra and Peekaboo poles. Having been to watch pole displays myself, I am all too aware of how rigidly safe those poles need to be and allowing anything substandard on a market is not safe. Unless warnings are placed on the aforementioned poles as to the dangers that they may face if used in a manner not befitting their suitability then, simply, they should not be on general sale.Flag

Name: Amy DarkStar Biggs on Jan 21, 2013Comments: I am an Ann Summers rep and have first hand experiance on how dangerous these poles are. I sold one to a friend thinking it would be ok for basic strength exercises and within 5 minutes it had fallen and ripped a hole in the ceiling and joist. I sent it back to head office with a severely damming letter on how they are going to get sued as they are NOT fit for purpose and they did nothing. Disgusting! I will not sell one to anybody who asks and advise them on where to buy a safe pole.Flag

I also have my own lingerie company where I could sell these but advise anyone who enquires to go to reputable companies where I know the product is 100% safe. The ones in Ann Summers are so dangerous!Flag
