Comments: I'm an ann summers party organiser but I also do pole dancing. Therefore I don't sell these, they did used to stock x poles for a, but I think the only reason they're selling these one's is because they weren't making a return from the x poles, and they couldn't sell them cheap enough, I did ask my manager about it why they do sell them as I didn't realise they used to stock x poles! But again that was her answer it's just not financially viable. I think for the sake of safety a big corporation can dish out a little money to get a better product though.

Comments: I fully support this petition and will never sell dangerous or unsafe dance poles with plastic parts at my website www.everythingpoledancing.com. I fully support the Pole Dance Community organisation and all the dancers in the UK in calling for Ann Summers to immediately withdraw all stock from their stores across the UK, from their party reps and their website.

Comments: I know this from experience- I purchased a peekaboo pole to use in a charity class I was teaching for absolute beginners. Once set up i attempted a basic fireman and the thing went flying. It hurt me a lot, and as an advanced poler I knew to do a very slow and controlled fireman spin. For a total beginner who has never had any lessons and does not yet know how much momentum to put into a spin- this could go very very wrong!

Comments: I know of friends who have accidently bought the peekaboo pole thinking it was a real dance pole and being attracted to it due to it's cheap price, only to be hurt and/or damage their room as it fell down. (Some of them did not even try to invert, but were merely 'dancing' around it as instructed.)

Comments: Poles that are not adequate for any move which requires your feet to leave the floor should come with that warning. It is unjust to sell and have beginners hurt and give pole a bad name.
