Stop Ann Summers selling dangerous dance poles

339 Signatures Goal: 1,000

We, the undersigned, believe that the Carmen Electra dance poles and Hot Pink Peekaboo dance poles on sale in Ann Summers stores throughout the UK are unsuitable for athletic pole dancing moves and should not be used for inverts, spins, tricks or any move where the dancer's feet are not on the ground.

We believe that the plastic parts used in the construction of this pole are flimsy and inadequate and that the evidence shows that people are at risk of injury or worse by purchasing these dance poles which are sold by Ann Summers.

We want pole instructors, students, dancers and pole studios across the UK and the rest of the world to sign this petition which will be put forward to the company to request that they stop selling these dance poles or attach a prominent warning to the box advising potential purchasers of the dangers.

Please sign the petition and please leave a comment even if you just paste or re-word this text

"I support the petition and believe that these poles are unsuitable for inverts, spins and tricks and should display a warning to that effect".

Your signature and comment will be recorded, you do NOT have to make a donation or pay anything to support safety in the pole dancing/fitness community.

Thank you for helping to make pole dancing/fitness a safer activity for everyone by signing and sharing on Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus and your own website.

The thought of someone inverting on an unsafe pole, and the injuries that could result, is horrendous. We should all be able to pole in safety knowing our equipment is reliable and secure. Please stop the sale of these dangerous dance poles before someone is seriously hurt.
