Act 37 (SB 206) is part of a nationwide effort by opponents of women’s health to end access to safe and legal abortion by requiring unnecessary hospital admitting privileges for physicians who provide abortion.   If not permanently blocked, Act 37 would force the closure of the Appleton Planned Parenthood clinic, putting women’s health and lives at risk. 

Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin filed an injunction against Act 37 on July 5 and on July 8, a temporary restraining order was granted against the law, allowing the Appleton Planned Parenthood to remain open.
