We, the undersigned, ask the SF Department of Public Works to deny the application for a proposed parklet to be located at 736 Divisadero Street. As residents of Divisadero Corridor, we are concerned about the ongoing infringement on public parking and the abuse of the Pavement To Parks program by local merchants who seem not to take into account resident’s own needs when proposing changes to the neighborhood.

On the program's website, under the section entitled Location Selection you mention the following as criteria for selection:

"Sizeable area of under-utilized roadway, and Lack of public space in the surrounding neighborhood"

There is already TWO other public-spaces (aka parklets) within a block in either direction of the proposed site. This would be the 3rd parklet in THREE BLOCKS (and is neither desirable nor integral to our community. Public spaces are generally good, but over implemented have the potential of being detrimental to the quality of life for the residents of this community.
