Imagine a world in which medicine doesn't heal you, it only makes you more sick...
Unknown to most Canadian citizens, our Conservative government is trying to pass a bill that will re-define pharmaceutical drugs as equal to herbal supplements under the law... do you fully realize what this means?
* Herbal supplements are NOT drugs - pharmaceutical drugs are MANY, MANY times more concentrated than herbal supplements and remedies, which means herbs are MUCH LESS TOXIC to the body than pharmaceutical drugs.
* everything we take into our bodies must be processed by our liver and kidneys before it can be eliminated - pharmaceutical drugs treat SYMPTOMS, which is why they DO NOT HEAL and only create more stress in the body, making it HARDER TO HEAL...
* pharmaceutical drugs are designed to treat a SINGLE symptom or component of an organ system in the body, generating SIDE-effects, which happen to KILL over 106 000 North Americans a year (and those were patients who took their medications according to directions)!
* ALL manufacturers of herbal supplements in Canada will be required to put up the same money that pharmaceutical companies do to have their products tested... which means that within a few months, pharmaceutical drugs will be the ONLY OPTION Canadians have for treating dis-ease.
Our country wants to reduce the huge costs of the health care system, but our government wants to destroy the only industry that can do that... and allow the industry that is doing the most to destroy the health of Canadians to flourish.

It has made it through 2 readings in the House of Commons in less than 21 days and only 1 more reading is required before it can be voted into law. The time to act is now. The world looks to Canada as an example of how things could be... let's go for a million.

P.S. Since this petition was written, the Health Minister declared in the House of Commons (June 5th) that many of the changes to bill C-51 we have demanded will be made. These changes only SCRATCH THE SURFACE of the problem, and will be embedded in a seriously flawed piece of legislation. We need to get ALL the needed changes made and we need clarity in the document and transparency in the process itself.
