The government has announced the funding will be pulled for Stonehenge's new visitor centre. English Heritage, which manages the site, said it was "extremely disappointed", arguing that transforming Stonehenge was "vital to Britain's reputation and to our tourism industry". It said it would try to find the funding from elsewhere. We shouldn't have to find funding from elsewhere, as stonehenge brings in over 1 million visitors from all over the world and is one of our countries oldest and most famous historic monuments. The current visitor centre is a disgrace and not fit for purpose. It makes us look like we dont care about stonehenge or its visitors. Its also crazy that we have a busy A road running alongside Stonehenge just metres away. Please everyone lets sign the petition and show the new government we wont let them take away the visitor centre.
