We the undersigned urge St. John's city council to stick to the municipal plan -- including height restrictions -- when considering proposed downtown development projects.

Alan Pickersgill, Canada5 years ago Comments: So sad that there is no more imaginative way to develop this unique place so many of us love. I no longer live in St. John's but did while at MUN and for many years after. The "after" image says it all. It is simply inappropriate, out-of-scale develeopment. And I'm not anti-change, for instance I think the Rooms is an architectural triumph and a credit to the city. It will be something that will be admired for generations to come and will be a draw to this wonderful city as well. Unimaginative office blocks that block the view and the light will be a source of regret and shame for the same period of time. Just don't do it. Newfoundland and St.John's deserve more sensible, sensitive intelligent and attractive architecture.
