We the fans of Steve Perry (Journey) are petitioning for the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame to induct him as a Solo Artist for 2012.  Mr. Perry has earned that right and deserves the recognition.  The lead vocalist for the band "Journey" 1977-1987 1995-1998 has also had a successful career as a solo artist.  He has been named as the 76th greatest singer of all time by Rolling Stone Magazine.  A quote by Allmusic stated " If only one singer could be selected as the most identifiable with 80's arena rock, it would have to be Journey's Steve Perry.  In 1984 his solo album "Street Talk" was released it sold more than 2 million units scoring him a #3 hit single "Oh Sherrie" a #18 single "Foolish Heart" and a double platinum sell out status. The music video "Oh Sherrie" was seening heavy rotation on the MTV Channel at that time.  In 1994 Perry released his second solo album project "For The Love Of Strange Medicine" which went gold.  In 1996 he recorded "Trial By Fire" ending up on the top of the Billboard charts #3 and that album went platinum before the year was out. In 1998 Perry released "Greatest Hits + Five Unreleased" compilation album.  In 2009 Sony legacy released Playlist: "The Very Best Of Steve Perry".  Queen Gutarist Brian May was quoted in a 2007 interview as saying "Perry is a truly luminous singer, in my opinion--a voice in a million. And if anybody knows a great voice, it's me."  Randy Jackson, American Idol Judge has been quoted as saying " Other than Robert Plant, there is no singer in rock that even came close to Steve Perry, the power, the range, the tone--he created his own style. He mixed a little Motown, a little Everly Brothers, a little Zeppelin, I just saw him not long ago, and he still has the golden voice."  Steve perry was awarded the title of "Greatest Rock Singer" in WROQ's 2010 March Bracket Brawl for the greatest rock singer.  Steve Perry has certianly made his mark on the world with his music and we really doubt that he is finished with what he has started.  We wish to celebrate the music of this great artist by insisting with all the signatures below that you add him as a solo artist into the induction ceremonies for 2012 of the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame.  This petition shall become evident by it's nature and will be released into the mainstream media for public attention and awareness so it may be signed by all.   We the undersigned have spoken and agreed to the above.

Steve Perry was, is, and will always be known as THE VOICE of Rock n Roll! I find it shameful that he has yet to be inducted in The Rock n Roll Hall Of Fame as not only a solo performer, but as a song writer.

Steve Perry I believe is the singer that not only has worked for this, but deserves to receive this great honor. He’s always sang from his heart for his fans. All of his true diehard fans will always be there supporting him no matter what he decides to do. We will always love Steve and be there for him though the great times and the bad times. He’s also earned my respect, my forever devotion, and appreciation,
