Name: Sarah Lanigan on Oct 28, 2007Comments: This has gone way too far. Police in this area are completely preoccupied with writing tickets for underage drinking that a young man was beat to death from simply walking around campus. Clearly something needs to be done. I shouldn't have to, nor should anyone, fear walking around on campus. It is ridiculous. How are we going to to concentrate on schoolwork and classes if we're too scared to go to them Unfortunately something like this had to happen in order for Rowan to step up its security...Flag

Name: Melanie Oliveri on Oct 28, 2007Comments: I think the cops need to stop harassing kids in beau and crossings, arresting kids for basically nothing like holding a red cup or just even looking at them the wrong way. I think they need to focus more on patroling and keeping the students safe and not being the enemy. They do need to be around definately but sometimes i think they are so head stong and on a power trip they forget why they are really there. Its not to arrest loud drunk college students but to keep the very student they want to arrest safe.Flag

Name: Ryan T. Kling on Oct 28, 2007Comments: I think everyone should be ensured their security walking on this campus. Furthering the idea of a more secure presence, rowan police/ security needs to make their presence felt by every student. I was a previous owl alert and the victim of being hit with a bottle while almost suffering the same consequences that Donald Farrell so unexpectedly faced and although I want more presence in front of dorms I would not like it if the police presence turned into a facist presentation having the police overextend their authority which I have personally felt during the aftermath of the events at Beau earlier in the semester. Police displayed unprofessional and at times threatening friends and myself with tickets for being outside on the stoop on a weekend night. I do feel like our lives should not be deterred in any way only to provide safety for us, police and/ or security should have a presence and watchful eye on our campus. Thank You.Flag
