We've got a character, Jacob, who "imprints" (claims as mate; will not be with anyone else until the newborn is "ready" to explore the sexual relationship - the newborn baby will mature in seven years realtime; has given the newborn a "promise bracelet"; and will act as a brother/uncle figure in the raising of this future lover he chose as a newborn baby. She's failed abjectly to defend this theme.

To begin with - I would like to know the connection between Clare Quilty in Lolita and Claire and Quil - her first incident of pedophilia.
