In today's society, there are many Step-Parents helping to raise children. These parents accept and love their step-children by choice. They have made the choice to accept the child and help raise the child. Many parents accept a child only after the child is conceived or even after the child is born. Step-Parents accept the child from the very moment they enter their lives. Step-Parents may enter a childs life at any time during the childs life. Shortly after birth, as a toddler, even as a teenager. But a majority ofStep-Parents have absolutely no rights to the child they help raise. If they're husband or wife were to die unexpectedly, the child's care would revert back to the other parent, and the Step-Parent would have no rights of visitation or contacts. Yet Step-Parents still accept this responsibility. I believe that Step-Parents should have a day of celebration for their commitment to accepting, raising and loving children of a different couple.
