The petition

Everyday, 1 in 5 children in Canada are exposed to the harmful effects of second-hand smoke in vehicles. People may believe that smoking in cars is harmless because windows can be left open, but there is no safe level of exposure to second hand smoke. Some may also think that banning smoking in cars would be a violation of the rights of smokers, but what about the rights of the children who have no voice? Children must be given a voice so that they can be protected against second-hand smoke. This petition is advocating for an amendment to the Smoke-Free Ontario Act to include a restriction of smoking in vehicles with passengers under the age of 16. The movement has already reached places across North America, so we encourage all to sign our petition because in the end every Ontarian will enjoy the health benefits of smoke-free air. So get into gear for smoke-free cars!
