There is a current misconception that having children will provide happiness for parents. This however is not true, many different studies have shown that there are other ways that provide more happiness thanchildrenand that children have a negative effect on one's mental and financial health. This is why this proposition to require a state evaluation before being allowed to have children was created. With this evaluation it would check the preparedness and understanding ofindividualswishing to have children. It would also inform them of all the negatives associated with raising children, and see if they intend to have these children for the correct reasons. This is believe to help lower population growth, depression in adults, andincreasesthe overall happiness of the adult population.
