Name: Lynne Phillips on Mar 30, 2011Comments: This is something my friends and I have been talking about for a few years now, particularly in relation to Mandalore and the Mandalorians, though other avoidable discrepancies have crept in as well, such as the back stories of Darth Maul and Asaajj Ventress. Continuity has always been one of the most admirable aspects of the Star Wars franchise and I've always been in awe of how it was all kept together throughout the diverse mediums and creators. I realize that the bigger it gets, the harder it is to keep straight, but there are certain established and well-known facts that seem to have been contradicted, altered, or ignored lately. As we discuss each Clone Wars episode, my Star Wars sisters and I would say, "But wasn't it like this before...?" or "One line from this character would have made that fit with established continuity..." The Mandalorian culture and history has grown slowly but steadily due to fan curiosity about Boba Fett in comics, "Tales of the Bounty Hunters," and "The Bounty Hunter Wars" trilogy, among other platforms, and was fleshed out and given great depth by Karen Traviss in the Republic Commando series. It is my understanding that she left the franchise due in part to The Clone Wars completely throwing her ideas out the window--ideas that have been firmly entrenched in the minds and memories of the fans, as well as in print forever. Please show more respect for what has come before. I understand that all the Expanded Universe material is basically glorified fanfiction, and the only real vision comes from Mr. Lucas. But these stories and ideas are approved by Lucasfilm and therefore become part of the great fabric of the Star Wars Universe and are accepted by fans as such. Please don't change what has settled in our minds and hearts as the history of our beloved Star Wars. Thank you. Sincerely, Lynne PhillipsFlag

Mr. Filoni has destroyed some of my favorite charcters in his effort to produce a semi-weekly show and I do not appreciate this. I am glad somebody had the courage to speak out against this cannon bashing to preserve the stories that so many of us hold near and dear to our hearts.Flag
