Comments: I love the new Clone Wars material. But part of me dies inside every time something I thought was true is steamrolled. Why must you, or Dave Filoni or any creative force tear apart the material that sustained fans between droughts of new Lucasfilm Star Wars creations?

Comments: Mr. Lucas, First of all, I wanted to thank you for the six great films you have given us! I cannot put into words how much joy they have brought me over the years, or that inexplicable feeling I get when I walk into a crowded theater at midnight bent on seeing the latest addition to the Saga, or even when I saw my much-loved Star Wars Trilogy on the big screen for the first time in 1997. It was a time of my life that I wouldn't trade in for anything. Accordingly, the other world that has issued forth from your remarkable franchise--that of the Expanded Universe--has been of equal excitement. I cannot describe to you the feeling I got the first time I picked up Timothy Zahn's Heir to the Empire, or being absolutely enamored by hours upon hours of gameplay in Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight (often at the expense of my school work). Both your films and the Expanded Universe together have molded my teenage and early adult years in a way that your wouldn't believe, and I humbly ask that you please do everything in your power to preserve the narrative as a whole untarnished. The Clone Wars multimedia campaign from 2002 to 2005 was the first effort at crafting a coherent whole narrative with as little contradictions as possible, and probably the best effort ever since. I ask that you please honor the work of countless authors who strove so hard to bring us this rich era in the Star Wars Saga, whether they be from Del Ray, Dark Horse, LucasArts, or any other publishing company. I also ask that you please honor the long-standing stories that have endured from the 1980s until today, such as that of the Mandalorians. Thank you, and good health to you, Mr. Lucas! May the Force be with you. Sincerely, John

Comments: Thank you very much for starting this petition. I was born in 1977, and Star Wars has been such a huge part of my ENTIRE life. I feel that many of the continuity changes being made in the Clone Wars series is raping our beloved universe.

Comments: please stop messing with the continuity of the star wars universe. it should be streamlined by now, unlike in the 70s, 80s and in the 90s when you brought it all back again with the heir to the empire trilogy and shadows of the empire media experience, but now everything should be in place so there is no glaring errors. there has been one author casualty already with karen traviss, don't make the same mistake again, i have been a fan since 1977, followed the universe since it's creation and will continue to follow your creation Mr lucas, So I will sign off by saying may the force be with you, always.

Comments: Wholeheartedly agree, strong continuity is one of the things that makes Star Wars enjoyable and makes such a huge universe feel like a full and deep story. Wouldn't be too hard to rectify some of the errors so why not? All the best :)

Comments: I agree! The Star Wars continuity is a beautiful tapestry woven together by countless artists and writers. While not perfectly consistent, it is still largely consistent and makes it something that can be enjoyed and discussed by the different generations of fans. By having one continuity, it puts everyone on an even playing field and fans since the Marvel days, as well as new kids coming into The Clone Wars can find common ground and trade stories and enjoy the discovery of seeing how all these decades of stories fit together!

Comments: Yes, George and even TCW team can change something in the EU. But if so, why did they say that: "Continuity with the other Expanded Universe works is being taken very seriously by the series' creators, with Dave Filoni being well-versed in the Expanded Universe." I think SW-fans don't deserve double standard politics.

Comments: I've enjoyed and supported Star Wars in all it's mediums for the vast majority of my life. Even during times when I didnt have a lot of money, I still put some aside to pick up the next comic or novel. As much as I am loving the current Clone Wars series, I can't help but feel like the money I spent on those wonderful stories was wasted when I see glaring continuity breaks which could so easily be avoided had the creators simply takens steps to do so. I understand that Mr. Lucas and the other powers that be would like to have more creative freedom, but that doesnt change the fact that as a long time EU reader I felt like my dollars were wasted on material that has now become irrelevant and contradicted. I've had a great loyalty toward Star Wars through the thick and thin, but it hurts to think that loyalty is not returned.

Comments: As a loyal & life-long Star Wars fan, I strongly agree with this petition. Canon and story continuity are very, very important to me. Nothing makes me a more disenfranchised fan as when I’m watching or reading a story that is contradictive with previously established continuity. Special effects and characters are fantastic, but over time become forgotten if the story is not in sync with the established Expanded Universe.

Comments: My opinion of a pacifistic race of Mando'a, after so many years of their already well established militant culture, and with the fan base built around such, would be a gross error in the big picture of the franchise as a whole. With such aggressive changes to a modern mythology, that is well and truely loved by millions, would begin to errod the fan base in segments, which would be bad for the longevity of a legacy that you have created for generations to come.
