We demand:
Investment in the Sumner County economy.
We want prosperous local businesses with a strong customer base, more job opportunites to employ well-educated graduates, and attractive policies to bring new businesses and industries here to Sumner County. The money that runs our schools stays right here in Sumner County, making businesses and development thrive.
Investment in our Public School System.
We want all the children in Sumner County to have the opportunity for a top-notch education. We want our school system to be a beacon that attracts families to move here, and keeps our property values high. Our schools are bursting at the seams and our teachers do not have the books and supplies needed to teach. Parents and volunteers are asked to pay more and do more every year. If our schools continue to decline, so will our home values, our business environment, and our children's future prospects.
Responsible funding of our school system county-wide.
We must require those who live in Sumner County to take responsibility for the current and future needs of their community. Investment funds must come from a broadly distributed system that shares the burden, making it plain and simple.
We are proud of our homes, our neighborhoods, our schools, and our county. We want to keep it that way! Start School Now!
