Starkville, MS Skatepark

The petition

Starkville, MS - Around our small town, home of the Mississippi State Bulldogs, there is a scarce number of spots suitable for skateboarding. I, with the help of a few friends, am hoping to get a skateboard park built in this small town. Not only would a skate park in the city improve the town’s diversity, but it would also encourage some of the citizens of Starkville to get outside and maybe even try something new. Many other cities across this country have opened such parks, and few have reported problems or lawsuits. Skating on the MSU campus can be rewarding, if you are not hassled by the campus police. The so called 'skate park' I've tried to build in my driveway is in horrible shape, not to mention the immense boredom and frustration it is equipped with. We hope that there is a chance that the city could build and maintain a public skate park as they would any other sports plex, city park, any other public recreation area. So, please, help us win the battle for our freedom of something we love! Your signature on this petition would be much appreciated.
