Name: Ronnie on Jun 20, 2007Comments: i think that starhub shouldnt have increase the price for the sports package due to the fact that they paid a huge amount for the rights to broadcast EPL matches. It would be unfair that starhub assume on our behalf that we are all EPL followers and base their fee hike on it. what if we are only followers of golf , nba, F1 etc. then how do they justify their fee hikes then i have already decided to cancel all SCV channel if they proceed with the fee hike. rgds/ ronnieFlag

Name: Raymond Chang on Jun 20, 2007Comments: I feel that the increase is too steep, 19 dollars increased ( 4 dollars for basic channel and 15 dollards increase for sport channel). This work out to be 45% increase. If Starhub is going for this price hike, I will be terminating my cabletvFlag

Name: Jim Too on Jun 20, 2007Comments: It is totally not the right thing to do, so when the government is raising the GST, Starhub is taking the chance and opportunity to raise the price against we the consumer. Totally absurb, if starhub think it is the right thing for such hikes, i would rather that Starhub opted out of the bidding in EPL or ESPN, Starhub is the one who opted the bidding directly, therefore Starhub should face the music themselves rather than we consumer. This is totally not the right thing to do to us consumer like me who does not even watch the EPL. Such hikes on the normal channels without the EPL is a total nonsense!Flag

Name: Aaron Yuen on Jun 20, 2007Comments: I can tolerate the $4 price hike across all subscribers PROVIDED it is clearly justified. If Starhub says that overheads had gone up over the years and it needs to cover for these, then release the numbers. What pisses me off, is the $10 for sports channel subscription. I have read that Starhub had paid 4 times the previous bid for the EPL rights. While I understand that would increase the cost of sports channel, my question is, what in the world is Starhub doing increasing its bid by 4 times!! I do not think that a service provider can make irresponsible bids like this and then just transferring the entire burden to the consumer. When in business, you do not just make rash decisions like this. And just exactly who were Starhub trying to bid against when they have viturally the monopoly for cable television in SIngapore Not to mention, the last hike was just a few years ago. If Starhub decides to bid 20 times the price now during the next license renewal, can they just increase the subscription fees irresponsibly againFlag

Name: Anonymous on Jun 20, 2007Comments: NO price increase! If they want to do so, at least give those under contract the flexibility! We have signed a contract for 2 yrs for a certain amount..let's hope they will honour this contract and not increase those under contract. When we break contract, they pinalise us, so like-wise when they want to increase, we should not be involved!!Flag
