| 302 | Jeremy Lim | Don't treat us like idiots, WHERE'S THE FAIRPLAY IN SUCH A MONOPLOISTIC ECONOMY? |
| 303 | ray | the reasons for the price increase are not justified! furthermore its ridiculous that consumers have to bear further cost to terminate. |
| 304 | Chris | I use to pay $130 for the sub. But now I have cut down by more than 50 % just to show that I not to happy about the price hike. The highly paid high management staff of starhub should lose some weight as they are getting to fat. |
| 305 | Anonymous | yes! im agree! i support with you ! protest! |
| 306 | Anonymous | StarHub is getting too complacent in this telecommunications and media industry. Dun forget that we, as consumers, are your ultimate bargaining powers to stay in the industry. Ruffling our feathers with such monopolistic practices is an ultimate insult to the Government of Singapore. If CASE still do not take a stronger stand in this against unfair practices, woe be the future of Singapore! |

| 309 | Anonymous | Starhub made a gigantic mistake in bidding 3x higher than ESPN for the EPL rights. Someone did not get their strategy and sums right and the subscribers are now paying for it! |

| 321 | Andy Lee | It's frustrating to be forced to pay increasing amout of money for something, knowing that there's no other alternatives for you. |
| 322 | Alvin Yeo | When I was in Hong Kong there are no way I will miss a match. It keep re-telecast everyday.
Here, only certain match are being replay and in lesser frequency.
Seem to me it does not worth to pay such high price and don't get to watch the match I wants in higher coverage. |

| 325 | Anonymous | I am against the price hike. I terminated the sport channel when their price increased last time. Luckily I wasn't tempted by their lousy promotions ever since my contract expired few months back. I am free now but still staying on as my folks like to watch the channels like SCV55, 56 as local channels really got nothing good. We need more cable tv players in the market to bring in quality stuffs and healthy competitions! |
| 326 | Anonymous | This is monopoly in the most evil form. It is unfair to those subscribers who have just entered the contract and will now have to pay $10 to $60 more per month. Why isnt Starhub moving the EPL to PPV channels and charge for them seperately instead of increasing the subscription for all customers. Starhub is already doing it for Football WC and the Cricket World Cup. Also i do not see any reason for increasing the subscription for other channels. I will surely discontinue many of the channels subscribed and if the hike is on all channels than call off the cable service. |
| 327 | edward | i would definately sign for other cable tv company if there was one around, too bad there isnt any....yet, wait till that day comes.... |
| 328 | Daryl | I think the increase is really unreasonable. |

| 335 | Anonymous | The prices really increase too much. ITs kind of unfair to those existing customers which the price we paid initially is so much difference after the increase.
And its unfair to those to sign on those 2-years plan. |
| 336 | Anonymous | I'm glad I found a outlet for my frustrations.
First of all, due to ESPN contracts, they increase the price from S$8 to S$13.75 w/o the Italy Seria A league. World Cup channel will be charged extra. Then they notify me in writing that Channel 55 & Channel 56 will be charged seperately. I had no choice but to sacrifce channel 56. Secondly, they want to add rental fee for Set top box which used to be free for many many years. Now they want to increase Basic Tier fee. Their mandatory deals only benefitted themselves. We subscribers have no say or outlet. Why can't they offer discounts for invoices above a certain value? I'm sure many of us subscribe to MaxOnline & cable TV. Only Hubclubbers who subscribe to all 3 services enjoy discounts. Well they can't compel me to change my mobile service provider to starhub. And to think I've used SCV for 5 years & MaxOnline for 4 years & still no perks for loyal customers. |
| 337 | Johnny Lim | Starhub has to practice the same way their mobile plans had been implemented; existing customers will remain as per their existing plan till the contract ends, then these customers will decide to continue or not with the new price hike. Please don't tell me that there is competitors for mobile plans, and no competitor for Cable TV, so Starhub think that no one is able to swop operator/s, hence Starhub can do whatever they like. This is as good as robbing us in the broad daylight!!!! |

| 344 | yak sow min | New price hike should apply to new sign-ups only, and NOT to consumers with existing contracts. we have no choice but to take the price hike until the contracts ends. we cant terminate without suffering penaltys |
| 345 | keith yak | lets talk facts. my plan is chinese world II $38. an increase of $4 to $42 will be a 10.5% increase. there will be an incremental 7% GST increase. why is the logic??? |
| 346 | ho wee wan | yes!! daylight robbery!!! given the openness of the media programmes across spore and the world, and to trust that they have the monoploy of the entire cable network here, rising a mere cents is considered a lowly punch to the loyal customer!! |
| 347 | Stefan Seow | When I spoke to Ernest Luis of TNP last year I told him I cancelled my subscription for SCV
as they stopped showing Serie A football. Earlier this year I signed up again,
although there is occasional showing of Serie A matches, it was quite
disappointing the games they chose to show.
Firstly, I am gobsmacked they decided to increase basic group(around $26 a month
I think) by $4 and another $10 for sports group($15 a month currently). Factor
in GST etc, each month I would have to fork out $55-$60 a month they watch the
only thing I want to watch - football. And I don't subscribe Channel 55, or star
movies. Just $55-$60 for BASIC + sports. It is ridiculous.
Secondly, the new package looks great additional stuff, Dutch league and
Scottish league....sounds exciting if you happen to be Dutch or Scottish fan,
and of course die hard fan of English football.
Give me Spanish La Liga, Italian Serie A and German Bundesliga, it's more
exciting but they are not showing much of the latter two. The Germans have the
highest goal ratio in Europe. Serie A have stars like Kaka, Ronaldo, Totti,
Ibrahimovic etc which is a shame they are not showing.
Thirdly, they are forcing us to take 'packages' instead of customised
products(ala carte). If I have to pay $45-$50 a month with no basic group, pure
sports channel, I will be willing to fork out the money but give me choice of
which ever I want to subscribe. But I am displeased that I have to take
something which I do not need. It's like to buy a Football DVD I have to buy
National Geographic DVD so that I get to buy the Football DVD.
Yes they show alot of sports, snooker, tennis, golf.....yawn ..... they should
let people choose what they want to see.
Lastly, so many matches, but seriously how many fans got time to watch them all?
Most of us working adults are cannot afford to watch late games which Champions
League and the best Spanish games are usually shown late. I will cancel my
subscription soon so will many of my friends and colleagues who expressed their
displeasure, it is simply exploitation of the monopoly they enjoy or lord over
us. |
| 348 | Anonymous | Isn't Singapore a free market that should have anti-monopoly laws in place? Such monopolistic move should never be allowed to occur. Such news has saddened me as a Singaporean. (And why ask us why more and more citizens are leaving the country?) |
| 349 | Anonymous | i already canceled my sports channel... and will probably cancel everything if the price remains or go up again... zZz... |
| 350 | Qing Long | I pay so much for the sports channel and yet there's no champions league qualifiers matches shown? I'm fine with scottish league and such live matches but no champions league qualifiers? Don't chase off consumers like this ... |
