Robert Wise, the late Director of Star Trek-The Motion Picture, never had a TRUE final cut of his film. Shortly before his death, a "Director's Edition," was released on DVD. However, that was 13 years ago. The Blu-Ray/UHD era is here and Robert Wise's DE never was redone for those formats. Now is the time to restore ST-TMP properly on Blu-Ray/UHD with the DE special effects redone with new effects added to enhance certain scenes. Especially the shuttle pod traveling to the Enterprise, there is NO other starships in drydock nearby to show that the Enterprise was the ONLY starship ready for a mission. It would be nice to see a starship undergoing refitting as well. Also, some lines were cut from the expanded version that could be put back in. Please petition CBS to have a "Final Cut" of Star Trek-The Motion Picture on Blu-Ray and UHD formats...
