Comments: The proposed development needs to include improvements to the local environment, mainly the excessive traffic circulation.

Comments: Random design that could be anywhere. This is a roundabout with houses/flats in - why not make it something positive rather than the usual lowest common denominator to make money for an owner and never mind the people that live there.

Comments: Please consider the character of the riverside and Victorian conservation area, the safety of cyclists, and the needs of local retailers and residents over the wishes of developers, so that yet another area of this beautiful city does not succumb to high rise monstrosities.

Comments: It is time that this space is redeveloped to make it a more attractive space for local stakeholders. A first priority is to sort out the traffic layout.

Comments: Though I agree with progress and improvement of this site I do not feel the proposed development enhances the area or its users. Particularly dangerous for the International students using bicycles on such a busy congested road!

Comments: I think this is a quick cheap solution which retains the island. I understand that there is an alternative somewhere that gets rid of the island and sorts out the AWFUL traffic system (especially for cyclists)

Comments: This development is a major missed opportunity for Chesterton and Cambridge proper. Mitcham's Corner, if it is to be redeveloped, needs an imaginative community-centred scheme that befits such a crossroads.

Comments: There is too much unsympathetic tower block development in Cambridge at the moment. It is the wrong thing for this site.

Comments: There is an opportunity here to create something beautiful, sympathetic and life-enhancing in the long term for the people who live in this area - and it is primarily a residential area. Please let's not opt instead for fat profits for developers and another cheap cruddy building that will look awful from day one but really hideous in about 5 years.

Comments: Any redevelopment of this area should have, as a priority, making the junction more pedestrian- and cycle friendly. The current high-speed gyratory should go.
