Name: John Timon on Feb 8, 2007Comments: Hurts to knock a good man, and a great Irish football servant when he's down but experience is what's needed. The current crop of players are more than good enough to qualify and compete well in the European Championships. However this won't be possible with Stan at the helmFlag

Name: Sean McCarthy on Feb 8, 2007Comments: Staunton obviously can't motivate the players or doesn't seem to have the tactical know how to manage at this level. And this isn't just typical Irish fans expecting more than the standard we are, this is Cyprus and San Marino for god sake!! We're going to embarrase ourselves in Croke Park next month. it's not Staunton's fault the FAI gave him the job, if any Irishman was given the job, they would have jumped at it, it's not his fault it's too big for him. The FAI messed up again, when are they going to learn!Flag

Name: Mark Holland on Feb 8, 2007Comments: Stan must go! The games against Cyprus and now San Marino were truly shambolic. As such, Steve Staunton should, if he has any love for the game and his country should willingly step down to allow someone more qualified to take his place and lead Irish football into a new prosperous era....Flag

Name: Jennifer Howard on Feb 8, 2007Comments: I think Steve's attitude to the game against San Marino was both false and unprofessional. The team obviously weren't in anyway prepared to fight for the goals could and should have scored. They went in with an easy attitude thinking they had the game in hand, which was obviously not true. We as a team will get nowhere with such an attitude towards a game. Not the European qualifiers & most certainly not The World Cup 2010Flag
