The department finally committed to a full ban on the use of tasers. My heart is heavy thinking of Stanley but I am relieved that no other family will have to endure this same tragedy. We achieved this together and I will stay vigilant to ensure this policy holds.
Stanley James William Harlan was taken from us at 23. He was killed during the use of a taser by the moberly missouri PD. He was a great son, brother, father, and friend to many. Please sign this petition to ban the use of tasers, it is important that this never happen again and now that it is still fresh in our memories that we act on our outrage.
I carry the weight of losing Stanley every single day and your encouragement keeps me moving forward. I have been spending my nights reaching out to local officials to demand a real change in how these weapons are used. We cannot let another family suffer this heartbreak.

Seeing this kind of momentum brings comfort because it means Stanley is not just another name to you. Your support proves that nobody wants other families to endure the hollow grief we wake up to every single day.

I'm not in favor of the use of CED's (Conducted Energy Devices) ... or TASERS. I don't think Law Enforcement should utilize these weapons. I do not believe that is could ever be good for the heart to have its electromagnetic impulses interrupted. I truly believe that these weapons can cause death. No one should be tased. The Police need to find a safer and better way to subdue or gain compliance for someone they are looking to arrest or subdue.

This is just awful. My heart breaks for his family. Those weapons are lethal and need to be gone for good.

How is it okay to use something that stops a kids heart? This is wrong and i hope the police are held accountable.
