Name: Michael Kelly on May 9, 2012Comments: If an institute of higher education does not stand for academic freedom, then they have failed the very students they are supposed to be teaching. I commend Emory for inviting Dr Carson and for not being intimidated by those who try to stifle free speech and academic freedom.Flag

Name: Charles William Oberer MD on May 9, 2012Comments: I was inspired to become a physician by Dr. Carson. I have heard him speak several times, and I believe his approach is as scientific as any professor I have ever had. Not letting him speak demonstrates ignorance and fear. What could he say that would hide the truth?Flag

Name: Anonymous on May 9, 2012Comments: There are plenty of physicians who share Dr. Carson's views and analysis of Darwinian evolution including myself. It is a lie to pretend that the various origins science theories form the basis for modern science/modern medicine. The scientific method, rapid speciation, natural selection form this basis, all of which creationists accept and have nothing to do with the real definition of evolution (indeed theories like natural selection were from scientists who supported creation and not afraid to think outside the box / keep an open mind). Seems like the Emory signatories to their "Letter to the Editor" are rather like lemmings who don't support independent thought and examination. Sad.Flag
