Name: Jill Bossert on Mar 31, 2011US State: FloridaComments: I wish there was a remedy for stopping the financial abuse of my elderly parents by my greedy and wealthy cousins. I've contacted every lawyer I know, and there seems to be no legal recourse. there appears to be no law on the books to STOP elder financial abuse, which is disheartening.Flag

It is a sin.Flag

Name: Richard Warner on Apr 1, 2011US State: CaliforniaComments: I work as a detective for a small municipal police department. A large amount of my time is taken by elder abuse cases that are frequently difficult to prosecute successfully. Please enact legislative changes that will help us to protect our elders more easily- one day, we will all be elders. Let's help our victims today so we don't become victims tomorrow!Flag

Name: Diane Duika on Apr 2, 2011US State: MichiganComments: Thank you for all of your important work regarding this under recognized issue. My Mother has been the central focus of elder abuse by family members through gaining DPOA when My Mother was suffering from dementia and undue influence. Our court systems have failed her many times with laws and lack of laws that need to put in place to protect all of our elderly. Awareness and education of this horrible crime often hidden and or ignored is so badly needed. thank you againFlag

Name: Dean Libey on Apr 3, 2011US State: WashingtonComments: The stories of our elderly being taken advantage of are seemingly endless throughout the U.S. With 5.5 million Alzheimer's patients in this country guardianship is big business with the point of making money from those that are incapacitated. It often is akin to taking candy from a baby, only these elderly become children are dying from a terminal disease. Why do we do so little in this country to protect those who cannot protect themselves any longer Sincerely Dean LibeyFlag
