Name: Michelle Lappas on May 17, 2009Comments: I am a parent of two children in Westover and have seen how important academic grouping is. When the group is matched by ability the teaching can be tailored specifically and the results have been successful year after year We need to build on the best practices of our city not take risks at the expense of our children. We have seen what works - so now let’s take the opportunity to implement the change to bring the middle school to that successful model. The city of Stamford risks loosing dedicated parents if the change is not for flexible grouping.Flag

Name: Debra Gerson on May 18, 2009Comments: Please listen to what we are saying. I have the opportunity to send my about to start middle schooler to Greenwich as my musband teaches there. I have decided to give Stamford a chance and stay. If I feel my son is not challenged he will be sent out of district next year. You have already lost many of your brightest students to near by towns. PLEASE try to do well by those parents who are entrusting theor childrens future to YOU.You have a responsibility to our children, all of them, and this will not be best for ANY child, regardless of ability.Flag
