Name: Sam Taylor on Apr 19, 2010Comments: The market blocks acces to the shops on staines high street. It is unavoidable when shopping in Staines in a saturday. The various food stalls also make the town smell unpleasant. If the Market is to continue in Staines, then perhaps it could be moved to the Riverside car park or an alternative location outside the main high street.Flag

Name: Ms L Atherton on Apr 20, 2010Comments: I agree with the above comments that the market should be moved from the high street. Some of the stalls sell some nice things such as jewelry or arts and crafts and I like the French and Italian markets. But the market every Saturday has numerous stalls selling cheap products like mobile phones etc which is very tacky and brings down the town.Flag

Name: Monica Goddard on May 25, 2010Comments: I think the market should be moved, didn't it used to be housed down near the town hall? It hinders people accessing the shops and when they are packing up neither the stall holders nor their vehicles show shoppers any mercy. Another thing the council need to do is try and attract a better class of shop to the town. The number of cheap/£/tat shops (esp. down by M&S) breeds decline. I am all for independant shops, but please of a better quality.Flag
