PETITION: Re: St Thomas Aquinas Redevelopment We the undersigned are opposed to the scope of changes proposed by the Halton Catholic School Board for St. Thomas Aquinas High School. Our protest is in regards to the lack of respect for our green and quiet community we currently enjoy - and that Oakville so proudly professes to endear. Specifically we object to: Sports-field flood lights: This will destroy a quiet neighbourhood with invasive light, crowd and car noise to 11:30pm Removal of mature trees: Especially those along Lakeshore Road and Dorval Road Adding a new street onto Lakeshore Road across from Holyrood Ave - This will create more traffic congestion on Lakeshore and cause needless destruction of mature trees. Excessive parking due to plans for high general-community usage: Asphalt parking lots will cover much of the area not covered by the building or artificial sports field. Eliminating the parkland currently enjoyed by the public for casual sports and exercise. Please limit the plans to a school, not a community centre!

The Southwest Central Oakville Residents\' Association (SCORA) has been formed to improve communications between residents, the Town, developers, and other bodies (government & NGO) that impact the quality of life in our area. Our objective is to provide vision and feedback to the Town and others regarding developments & projects in this area to ensure they are sensitive to our quiet and green residential neighborhood. We support fair and environmentally responsible re-development. We will strive to protect our neighbourhood through education and awareness with the residents and members of Town Council. This will include participation in hearings, information sessions and legal proceedings as required. SCORA will strive to represent the area to local and provincial government(s) concerning developments and issues facing our neighbourhood. Association Boundary: Maurice Drive west to Fourth Line Mary Street / Wildwood Drive south to Lake Ontario
