SSN Game Night has been nothing more than an old wives' tale for ages now - a distant memory in the recesses of jaded SSN Vets' minds. SSN Game Night used to stand for something. It was our way of telling "the man" that we would not conform to the 9-to-5 monotony, that the workplace could be used for more than just work, that we would NOT settle for the “Fridays at Casey Moore’s” de-facto get-togethers. SSN Game Night stood for unity. In the face of different gaming platforms, game genres, CONTROLLER PREFERENCES, outdated hardware and unique life circumstances we found a way to GAME. But alas… over the years our resolve grew weak, our desire faltered and our passion shriveled. Eventually SSN Game Night was swallowed by the darkness of logistics and the tyranny of evil men. And so it went away, lying dormant, hiding in the shadows until someone, someday would pick up a controller (or a mouse and keyboard) and say “dude… we should totally play together.” I believe that TODAY is that day when we can resurrect SSN Game Night from the ashes. A rider from the east has joined the SSN ranks and brought with him an Xbox console and experience playing PC Games. More importantly he brings a willingness to play and a thirst for camaraderie. His name is DOMINIC and he has come to game. Dominic can be the key to jump-starting what we have all forsaken. But he is not without challenges. Every story has a villiain. And I say unto thee that villain is cross-platform game compatibility, led by the Dark Lord Dennis, whose steadfast refusal to try the XIM keyboard and mouse adapter for Xbox has kept us from being able to play one of the best cooperative multiplayer games of all time: Gears of War 3. So I’m calling upon you – coworkers of Solid State Networks – to sign this petition and convince the Dark Lord Dennis to just give his adapter a chance. Just one night to try and find a way to hook up our Xboxes, order pizza & cokes and kick some Locust ass. Sons of SSN! Of Rick! My brothers. I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the courage of SSN fails, when we forsake our coworkers and break all bonds of Game Night, but it is NOT this day. An hour of incompatibility and shattered keyboards when the Age of Game Night comes crashing down, but it is not this day! This day we PLAY! By all that you hold dear on this good earth, I bid you PLAY… Men of the SSN! Forth! And fear no gaming platforms! PLAY! PLAY! Gamers of SSN! Spears shall be shaken, shields shall be splintered! A sword day... a red day... ere the sun rises! Play now... Play now... PLAAAY! Play for ruin and the world's ending! Death! Death! Death! DEATH!"
