Tumblr is a huge blogging platform for many groups of people, millions of people access information from blogs using their service and they do not support SSL for their blogs unlike WordPress. in this day and age privacy is a huge concern from internet service providers etc and the days of plaintext are over, tumblr supporting SSL would encrypt millions of web site visits every single day and be a significant victory for privacy. tell tumblr we want SSL support!
