6658 Nancy McGurnI welcome the opportunity to help right a serious wrong.
6659 Kathryn a. GedvilasThis is so unfair. I will not be able to live on my pension alone if my spouse dies.
6660 Donna LoCocoPlease allow me to collect my social security that is due to the years of extra hard work that I have put into.
6661 Mary StollbergSince we pay into both systems (Social Security & pension plan), it seems fair that we should be able to collect both upon retirement.

6670 Margaret MassarelloI am not from California but I am from Illinois that has the same situation. I have my S.S. taxes paid so I should be able to collect my S.S. when I retire.

6673 Katia Julian WrightI have paid into Social Security for the past 30 years. It is unfair that my full earned Social Security will not be available to me when I retire.

6676 Daniel FarrellBecause I came to teaching late in life, I feel like I am being financially punished. I paid into social security for 44 years and it is not fair to keep that money from me.
6677 Jennifer FoleyI have worked at several other jobs prior to becomming a teacher and I deserve the right to my SS when I retire.
6678 Louise LarsonNot only am I a second-career professional, I will retire from teaching with less retirement money than I would if had social security only. Also, I feel it is unfair that portion of my husbands social security I might receive in the future will be reduced. He earned those benefits. When he passes away, I feel I am entitled to those benefits as would any other spouse.

6687 Kimberly HughesMy husband (a firefighter) and I (a teacher) have paid into the Social Security system while working additional jobs over the course of 30 years. It is only fair that we both receive our just benefits. Anything less than that is simply unfair. We will be watching for those legislators who support us and those who do not. All of our future votes will reflect their voting records .

6692 AnonymousIf we are not allowed to collect what we put in...is that not stealing? Is this the message that we want to teach our children? That injustice is carried on by our elected officials.

6694 AnonymousI worked for 40 years, many of those years as a teacher. I am a single woman and my social security has been reduced by 40%. If politicians will also take a 40% decrease, then I can live with the windfall. I EARNED my social security! I am entitled to 100%!

6699 william rossoOver 20 years in the private sector with 20 + in the postal service.Maybe I should have opted for social security when it was offered.
6700 Kathleen AndrewsPrior to becoming a teacher at 42-years-old, I was a journalist. Now that I am nearing retirement, I went to my social security office and the clerk there said that there was a bill that would allow me to receive all my Social Security. I think it is so unfair to penalize teachers for working on another job prior to becoming a teacher. This is not "double dipping" but my much-needed income in my retirement. Please let me know who I can contact to make sure that this bill passes. Thank you in advance for your assistance. Kathleen Andrews, (626) 286-7946
