Troy Fisher-HarperFrom my visit to Sri Lanka, I know from friends that the people of Sri Lanka are tired of the fighting and want it to stop. The only people benefiting are politicians and arms dealers - the people themselves suffer and live in fear. Despite the past and current state, many, many people want to stop the fighting and work together towards reconcilliation. Please don't let their suffering continue for even one more day through silence.

Amanda TreatI received an email yesterday from my Tamil friend who says innocent civilians are dying in the crossfire. Please step in and save our friends!

Rachel D. ForemanAfter spending some time in Batticaloa, Sri Lanka in the spring of 2003, I remain interested in national affairs. At that time, violence from the civil war had just reached a lull, and the country was enjoying true peace for the first time in a couple of decades. I sincerely concerned about the current situation in SL, considering all that the country and its people have been through, including the tsunami. I am unsure of whose responsibility it is to protect the lives of innocents in such a situation, but implore the UN to explore peace-keeping measures.
AnonymousWe need help to assist this nation, for helping secure human rights for this beautiful country and its people. I was present in this country staying with the people, during its time of peace in 2003, and with everything I can, I hope to see this country see peace again but we need your help.

AnonymousI condemn the war and want immediate pease talks to resume. This is not my war but Sri Lanka is like a home to me and I m afraid that I may never see my home having any peace in my short life on earth.
AnonymousWe shoud condem the persistent war between the Sri Lanka government backed armed forces and LTTE. It brings untold miseries and sufferings to innocent humans The ill consequences of the war on economy, political, environment and social structure can further brings untold and prolong hardships to the people of Sri Lanka. The global community must pressure the Sri Lanka government and LTTE to pursue the peace process and eventual end war. May God Bless.
