Name: David Brown on Apr 30, 2012Comments: As a frequent visitor to BC (I'm from Ontario but travel to BC, for pleasure, an average of 3 times per year, and spend several days in Squamish on each trip), I was shocked to hear of the proposed gondola. Allowing such an affront to the natural beauty of the area is not what I would have expected from what, in many ways, may be Canada'a most progressive province, and what is also arguably the most beautiful. As a visitor, this is not a life-or-death issue for me - I can always travel somewhere else. But I have much sympathy for those who chose to make BC, and Squamish in particular, their home, only to have this proposed gondola potentially negate the very reasons they moved there in the first place.City and Province: Kitchener, OntarioFlag

Name: Pam Dicer & Bob Milward on Apr 30, 2012Comments: We feel that allowing this would create a dangerous precedent with respect to other similar parks. As long time members of a Vancouver hiking club, we have hiked the existing trails and climbed the Chief numerous times since 1975. This is a special place where people achieve their goals by physical and psychological effort, not by taking an easy route to the top. Having a great many people in this area runs the risk of the place being worn out by being "loved to death". Some friends have been married there and others have had their ashes scattered in this park - yet another reason for treating the area with respect.City and Province: Bowen Island, British ColumbiaFlag
