sid priceThis sought of thing is happening to much in our society, and we are losing our way of living. I am all for this petition, if things like this carry on we won't have anything left.
derek emeryIv"e seen this happen all over Stoke-On-Trent. It will be a sad day if it happens in Digbeth.

Gavin Sutter LL.B. LL.M.Once too often newly gentrified areas have had longstanding traditions and venues stopped as a result of new arrivals' complaints. This is fundamentally unjust in my opinion: you want to move into an area, check it out properly before you move in. If you don't like it, move *on*, not *in.*
GazThey stop me from groovin', they bang on me wall. They doing me crust in, it's no good at all.
paul corrysoon there will be no `live` music other than huge, corporate events that you will have to pay silly money for. you cannot have two musicians just playing in a corner- the " two-in-a-bar" law. no gigs? it`s going that way i`ll tell you. ..maybe peole will wake up and start to see the REAL implications of `social engineering`-no fags, soon no booze, then no loud music ANYWHERE unless it`s signed by a jobsworth in a sweat-smelling council office. well--i,like many, am totally sick of this kind of control. tell you what, if greasy property developers didn`t line greasy council palms in that invisible way they apparently do,people wouldn`t build posh new appartments near gigging venues.--- one final thought, and this goes to the people who own the appartments.......did the people who designed and lobbied for these appartments KNOW this would happen? did they care how YOU as tennants feel about living near a gig venue? hmm. were you told when you veiwed? i doubt it. money talks,eh?

John McGinnellKeep on rockin
Nicky JamesIts vital we keep these superb music venues open! The Spotted Dog was there first and residents of the Abacus Apartments should be grateful to have such a great music venue on their doorstep!

andrew coxThis happens far to often with rich city developers white washing over local communities to sell there development

AnonymousThere is far too much of this going on - look at what happened to the fantastic Fiddle & Bone - and now it seems it's happening again. Look at the supposed arson attack on Edwards rock nightclub - coincidentally where new apartments/redevelopment is taking place - remamber the farce with Ronnie Scott's too? All the historic buildings and culture that go with them seem to be dismissed when it comes to B'Ham Council and developers. Can't all be coincidence surely and how come they have an answer for everything that would not normally be allowed/given a second look or hearing? Seems there is no compromise where money/patting of backs is involved....
AnonymousI use the Spotted Dog every week end. I just cannot understand the fuss about the noise. I have never found the music too loud - thats from inside the pub!

Glynis JonesIf they don't6 like the noise living in the city then they should move!
T . JenningsThe pub was there first and part of the Birmingham music scene. Why move there if you want peace and quiet.
Gemma Holtgreve
Lisa WoodSurely the residents opposite should have considered a pub across the road before buying! The Spotted Dog is a great pub in the heart of Birnmingham where few of the traditional ones are left.
mia darathe spotted dog is one of the nicest most welcoming pubs that i have ever been to
Dr. Mitzi WaltzWhen developers talk about "urban environments" what they usually mean is a vertical version of suburban sprawl, boring, lifeless and commercial. Digbeth is the real deal--exciting, gritty, diverse.
Leon Trimblethe spotted dog is great...

John DoveyHow is it fair to serve a noise abatement notice on a venue that was there *before* the apartments?
Philip KnightKilljoy NIMBYs make me so mad *shakes fist*
Michael WeberI am international student and I think that Digbeth offers some of the greatest pub in Birmingham and non of them deserves to be closed.
