| 359 | Anthony Collado | I think what JQ doesn't get is Spider-Man getting married has the same exact effect on him 20 years ago that undoing the marriage has on a lot of people reading comics today. Maybe even worse because the marriage didn't toss out or edit a lot of stories of the past 20 years.
For the time being I'll just read Spider-Girl, Stan Lee's strip and Defalco's upcoming Mr. and Mrs. Spider-Man section in Spider-Man Family so I can still read about his marriage. And keep reading the Amazing Spider-Man Collection on DVD-Rom, wrapping up 1966 now lol! Current 616 Spider-Man is kind of resting for me. I'll still read New Avengers along with Secret Invasion though since the fact that he's married or unmarried probably won't be a major factor in those books.
But yeah I won't be reading Amazing Spider-Man until the marriage returns.

I have read a few other comments here, & I agree I grew up with Peter as a young boy growing into a great man & hero, I still remember my first introduction to Spidey was a coloring book from 1977, I grew up liking him with each new adventure he had. Now I feel that my hero Spider man is a fool forever, because he has LOST his GREATEST friend MARY JANE WATSON .
Also all people signing this petition should remember the one who wanted to see them happiest the most was Aunt May who according to OMD storyline was on her deathbed for yet the 100th time. Would it be so different that she'd be saddest always because her smart nephew is so foolish with his LOVE Life or his Life because of her passing? I think it's sad that he is not really as smart as he Peter is written to be. So I won't read the comic, but I will Pray that this also doesn't cause Marvel to be in the RED like it was a few years ago, but what do I a spider man fan know? |

In addition, it is very noncanonical and inconsistent to use Mephisto as the being whom Spider-man makes a deal with because all comic book fans know that the former will also find a way manage to violate the deal. The problem with most bad comic book writers and editor-in-chief is that in the absence of a retcon they always fail to tie-up different issues of previous and present storylines. |
