AnonymousI was six years old when Spider-man married MJ. I looked up to the character as what a man should really be like. I don't think there is anything wrong with having that kind of role model available to all ages.

Eddie AndersonTheir were a lot of upsetting messages in the “One More Day” story line for example 1. Making a deal with Mephisto (the devil) to save Aunt May’s life. What ever happened to “With great powers come great responsibility?” I know Peter loves Aunt May, but she is about 80 years old and Peter's got a wife. It's time for him to leave Aunt May's apron and cling to his wife for goodness sake!! Does Peter love Aunt May more than Mary Jane? 2. Is Marvel saying to the public it’s cool to make a deal with the devil and in making that deal everything will be ok? 3. Isn’t Spider-man against the forces of evil? The superhero concept I thought was good vs. evil with no compromise. 4. The writers make it seem like marriage is just bad, and it makes for story’s that are not interesting. Which is making marriage in and of itself look bad and not worth the headache to begin with. Is Reed and Sue Richards the only couple that can stay together? If the writers you have are limited and can’t think up interesting stories with the marriage get ones that can. Some one must take a stand for what is right and set good morals for the young kids coming up. For all the years Spider-man been in comics this character has not matured in recent issues but regressed into an immature kid.

Bradley OwensMary Jane is as important to the Spider-man mythos as the spider powers themselves. She proved that a geeky nerd could not only save the world but also get the girl of his dreams.
Kevin StrasserShameful storytelling.
Clay HarrisBoycott bad storytelling. Bring Back MJ and Peter's marriage. Bring back the history of Spider Man's last 20 years. Bring back Spider Man. I think there should be comic book super heroes where there is no retconning, where even heroes grow up, get married, grow old , and die.
AnonymousFine, for a short story, do a "house of M" style change of reality. But for the sake of your readers and your credibility as story tellers, please get back to where we left Pete and MJ and tell the story in a believable, non-devil related way. IE no magic spells to fix things!!

Shaun BrownStarted re-reading spidey at the start of Civil War after a view years off and carried on reading thru back in black and onto One More Day. I was very disappointed at how Marvel has chosen to revere over 20 years of history. With the confusing New/Mighty avengers,, the frankly un interesting Initiative series, the perceived lack of continuity between the x-men titles prior to Messiah Complex and Fantastic Four not really going anywhere (especially with the yawn inducing Black panther and storm) Spidey was always the premiere title. What Marvel has done is very poor. The only glimmer of hope I am clinging to, is that Lyla Miller is rescued from the future and tells Spidey this reality is a load of hogwash, or that Marvel are finally decided to do a summer event based around Spidey like House of M for 2009.
MarioI am an Italian fan and after twenty years I dropped my subscription to Amazing Spider-man title.
Barbara FowlerBeing a female comic book reader it's sad to see a happy couple have to be split up because one man is going through his mid-life crisis. Joe Q I hope you get over it soon and I hope you realize what a stupid mistake you did..

Joseph FinleyI couldn't agree more with the above letter. And so much more could be said about how stupid a move this was. Spider-man is now frozen in the past. Growth is futile. Real change cannot happen. Just endless roundabout romances. Brilliant! Maybe Marvel should just put Mephisto's logo on the cover from now on.
AnonymousI get the feeling that Quesada doesn't care about his industry anymore. He should quit if he isn't interested in bringing quality storylines to fans, and let someone more competent take over, someone who actually CARES about the comics.

Bruno DomenI've been a fan of Spider-man for over 30 years. A deal with the devil is where I draw the line. One of the things I enjoyed about your comics was continuity. Thanks to your love of money, this has been shattered. There are so many Peter Parkers floating around, the trip has no worth anymore. You had a "Mona Lisa", now you have a scratched up, painted over mess.... It seems silly to pay for trash, and there are many other much more worthwhile things and people in this short life to spend time with. Good bye Spider-man, good bye Marvel. "The love of money is the root of all evil." (1 Timothy 6:10)
Michael PerczakI Think the change is messed up.
catherine mooreI dont like it at all please put mary Jane and peter back right now.
Cristian AvendañoFrom Punta Arenas, Chile, a city in the southernmost edge of the world, I give to this pettition my most sincere endorsement. We, the Latin American Spidey fans didn't like One More Day either, as it seems to be a radical and somewhat unnecessary attempt to make Peter Parker single again. Spider-man is Spider-man; the comic book is named The Amazing Spider-man, not the "Amazing married couple" or "The Amazing single mr. Parker". Good stories involving the web-slinger can be told with him being married, it only takes a little common sense and good spider-scribes. Sorry for my bad english and thanks for your time.

Rik DachsIf Marvel wanted to have younger people attract to spiderman then use ultimate spiderman. or make a spider baby.. but this storyline is stupid, cowardly and weak. It shows that either the editors are trying to make a business decision that totally ruins the entire character or the writers are so bad they need to be let go. I loved the "the other" storyline, civil war, many things recently made me a fan again - i had collected a LOT when i was younger, but then started to lose interest with the spider totem thing (ezekiel, morlun, etc), but dang things got better!! Now this one more day and brand new day storylines, i have ceased my collection. I don't consider it part of the spiderman story but rather weak editors/writers. If it is all removed from the spiderman canon.. i would continue.. til then.. forget it.. if it stay as it is.. then i will just consider it the ending to a great story.

TrevorThe abruptness of the change and reinvention of the series is too crazy. there are other ways to get rid of the marriage without deleting the last 20+ years. Clone saga etc.
Graham LawrenceAlternatively, we could send Mr Quesada over to DC Comics, where he could apply exactly the same taste and logic and style (from Brand New Day) to giving Lois Lane a little pork pie hat and having her start repeatedly saying, "Gee isn't it strange how Clark seems to disappear whenever Superman is around?" Also derivative, second hand, out of time, unoriginal, not in touch with today's fans, a huge mistake, etc.

CarlosAbsolutely ridiculous. I've read through #550, and decent but it's not working for me. He had matured, evolved, you didn't just do a retcon, you made him lose diginity, maturity, some time - He's like 25?? Come on!! And I love a mature comic book as much as anyone but it seems like BND is cussing just for the sake of cussing, to be hip or something. Come on, lame. %&*#@! Tom Brevoort said "...making Peter a teacher definitely made him seem older" WHY IS THIS SUCH A BAD THING TO EVERYONE??? He IS older, not as old as real time but 30 years old or so and a teacher, what's wrong with that? And to say as a married man there are no good stories to write? Then what, the last 20 years have been a real struggle for Marvel to write interesting stories for Spidey? I think you did fine but I guess everyone is no longer up to the challenge. So you're saying all of those dramas on film and TV just don't have chance if they're about a married man and all of the struggles that come with it? Everyone has said it all but one thing...Civil War was created to lead to this point. No doubt. They needed a good way to get someone to shoot at MJ or Pete, thus getting May shot instead. So for those of us who think May should've just died, I'm sure that was never an option. This had been planned for two years.
Lorenz OcampoI think its time the someone give Quesada the proverbial boot! How do you sleep at night Quesada? ripping us off 20 years worth of storylines. Its a shame the way Marvel has been doing to its characters lately you turned something of an icon like spiderman a hero that you can look upto and turned him into an impersonal corporate brand just for a buck. Why dont you take Ben Parker advise "With Great Powers Come Great Responsibility" or get the F* out of Marvel! Its times like this that you'd switch over to DC
Marjorie HalloranWith all due respect Mr. Quesada as a fan of the Spider-man titles and marriage storyline, I feel as if you dumped manure on the last twenty years of continuity in the spider universe. Please reconsider
Mike BirdI prefer the marriage intact. The way it was undone was clumsy & extremely contrived. I have taken ASM off my pull list.

Jason MorganI won't buy another comic book from Marvel until this farce has been retconned into oblivion.
ernie garciaIn the end, it will probably be poor sales that result in Marvel making any change. 'Nuff said.
