Comments: I strongly oppose any more building of houses on green belt land in Spelthorne. We have enough problems in the UK with our youth not having enough to occupy them, why knock down perfectly good youth centres to make way for more housing, we are over crowded in Spelthorne as it is, we should be building more youth centres not knocking them down. Leave Spelthorne alone it is being changed beyond all recognition, the infrastructure cannot cope and the people who live here do not want it.

Comments: I particularly oppose the replacment of the sports centre and youth centre - vital community resources - with housing.

Comments: Leacroft provides an important venue for young people to meet and provides a venue for various sports. Spelthorne Leisure Centre is NOT an alternative. For example, last year Leacroft supplied HALF the badminton players for the Spelthorne Surrey Youth Games team in both junior and senior events. Leacroft out of action this season has seriously impacted the training. Leacroft keeps kids 'in', making them part of the community. It's an important contributor to our society.

Comments: I am the chairman of Staines Town Juniors and a Spelthorne resident, I am concerned that the council are considering taking away facilities which with a little bit of investment could add great benefit to the youth population within our borough. When I was younger I used both Shepperton Youth Centre and Leacroft Sports Centre and have many fond memories of my time spent there. At present Shepperton has no real facilities for the youth population and as a father of three boys I would like somewhere safe for them to be able to go and enjoy themselves rather than hanging around the streets with nothing to do. I am starting to see more groups of youths hanging around our streets and in the long run this can only lead to more money being spent trying to control them so why not use that money now and invest in these facilities.

Comments: Leave this alone - this is a nice area and we don't want it turned into one big resdential area - leave the fields/sports places alone!

Comments: disgusting and upsetting, what more do they want from us, they are taking away all our freedom, we will be confined to our homes , with no local garden centre and sport centres,, and the youth centre .what about the kids, dont they have any say in what happens to there entertainments, sorry but when are they going to draw the line , we dont need more houses, you cant play sports, buy plants etc , go to a youth club. in a housing estate, we dont ask for much, we just want to keep our freedom, so HANDS OFF,

Comments: It would be nice if planning departments did something that the residents wanted, for a change instead of raising money for themselves by selling off land.

Comments: Please have pity on these youngsters and open more indoor sports facilities instead of closing down existing one. No wonder more and more teenagers prefer to have knives in hand rather than badminton/tennis rackets, basket/Volley balls etc

Comments: Once again a stop gap knee jerk to an annual budget problem. Assume that the usual short term view is taken and logistics and the morality of the whoel activity have not been considered. Maybe if the councillors stopped increasing their own expenses and the bonus for the muppets the councillors employ to run the "business" the odd million these stupid activites raise could be found.

Comments: The green parts and open spaces make Staines the pleasant place it is to live. Take them away and it becomes like another inner-city estate, where crime is high and no one wants to live there. Lets keep Staines a place to be proud of and a joy to live in.

Comments: Leacroft Centre is a vital and necessary part of the community. You take the Centre away and you take away a safe, caring and essential place for young and old people to meet either through Clubs or social events held at the Centre
