We the land owning tax paying residents of any and/or all rural routes in the county of Rutherfordton n.c at this time demand the same restrictions as well as enforcement of speed by motor vehicle.We understand this may not be feesable in certian less populated areas of the county and for this we are sure our entrusted local law makers are compentant enough to set fourth fair and regulatory guidelines that will be able to satisfy everyone.Cut thru roads less than 1 1\2 miles long from entrance to exit with 10 or more individual residental driveways should be no question these so called cut thru roads are the main issue.when you take a cut thru road the reason is to save time so naturaly youre going to go as fast as you can for you know there will be less traffic and they are far away from any law enforcement so this makes ideal conditions for reckless and dangerous driving combine this state of mind with the fact that the driver surly dosent live on the road and in that case will not know the lay of the land as well as its residents when an accident happens almost every time the people who live on the road loose.We these rural residents live in the rural area because we chose to and among the top 3 reasons we chose to live here is so we dont have to worry about watching our family pets everytime they venture in the road or close to it not to mention our children.I benjamin sane jr.am one of these rural residents and have lived on my road for 44 years i remember a time you would count how many days would pass befor seeing a car travel our road now i wont even let my children play in the front yard for fear some fool will loose control and wreck in our yard and kill my kids.These roads are dangerous when travled at hi-way speeds as public records reflect numerous deaths from wrecks as well as massive property damage plesant hill road alone has 1 death and 2 major wrecks resulting in total loss to the vehecial in just 2 yrs all were from speeding in unsuitable conditions,and the road is barely a mile long.My kids have lostover a dozen pets to this problem.I must remind you it is very hard to explain the loss of a pet to a child in this situation.But with the loss of our household dog on 3-8-13 which was delt by someone traveling up our road that did not stop to tell us they simply him and drove off.I have lived here all my life all my pets have lived a full life some dogs up to 18 yrs bizer lived 7 months.He was not only my kids dog but he was mine as well.He lived inside with us ate with us slept with us if we went out to eat he did to if we were not allowew to bring our dogs to a place we wanted to go we just didnt go he was a member of our family and was loved as member of our family.I turned my head for less than 1 min when company stopped before they could get in and set down he was killed.I have had enough as a land owning taxpayer i demand the county that takes and profits from my taxes to address this issue and fix it in a timely manner for the county counts on me to pay my taxes in a timely fashion i expect no less from my county in handeling a dangerous matter such as this.
