Dear Friends of the Severna park Community Center:

Our indoor pools use a sophisticated dehumidifier to maintain the air quality that is required to maintain an optimal and clean air environment. This equipment is nearing the end of its practical life. Our estimates on replacement cost run around $650,000 plus the expense of the down time for the installation.

The Community Center currently carries about $2,000,000 in construction debt - which our board is actively working to pay off. The additional cost of replacing the dehumidifier system while continuing to pay down the debt will create considerable financial hardship on the center. Our operations are paid for with user fees, fundraising, and contributions. No tax dollars are used to operate the center.

We need your help.

Senator Ed Reilly (LR784) and Delegate Mike Malone (LR0785) are sponsoring a bond bill in the Maryland Legislature for $325,000, and the remainder will be secured through fund raising efforts within our community. This is our first request for support since the center was started. We thank them greatly for their support!
