Dear Council Members,
I've worked in rescue for 8 years and have had the pleasure of working very closely with Pets Inc and Jane Brundage. They have taken ~ 85 "Eclectic Edisto Stray Pups and Dogs' from our group in the past 3 1/2 years. This group has been successful and taken giant leaps of faith financially and emotionally with services they provide to the community and most importantly the animals they have helped.
I contacted Project Pet regarding several dogs that needed to be rehomed & in dire circumstances...I was told to contact Pets Inc. They have no working knowledge whatsoever of shelter operations, backbreaking work & being 'in the trenches' most of the the time. They handpick smaller 'designer dogs' to foster...this is not rescue!
If I can be of additional assistance and provide more information don't hesitate in contacting me.
Thanks
Walton Salley |

| 258 | Geraldine Rose | Please let Pets Inc. spay the animals to prevent more animals roaming the streets, hungry, etc. |

| 261 | Michelle Boland | I like this idea a lot more than building another shelter especially in the area off Harbison Blvd. With the investing of the CD's.... I think that it would be best to not touch the 3 million principal ever and only use the interest for the spaying and neutering. This way the money will continue to provide for years to come. |

| 273 | Candy Coey | Pet's inc. has the sensible solution. Our councils need to stop wasting OUR money on a catch and destroy program that does nothing to educate the public on how to actually stop the problem from occuring in the first place. I believe all dog owners should have to go through a training program before they are allowed to become owners. These are not disposable items, they are living, breathing beings that have feelings too! Compassion is what we need, not more buildings and more death. |

| 281 | Kristen Lominack | I am a resident of Lexington SC and ask that you PLEASE vote to use this money wisely. We need to stop the overpopulation of pets, NOT build more space for those that will likely never be adopted. Spaying and neutering is the right thing to do and with this money put towards that cause, we won't need more shelters that will use more tax dollars in the long run. The solution is to stop the problem before it starts, not look for ways to control it once it's too late. |

| 283 | Jane Mayberry | Please help stop the suffering of so many unwanted animals by authorizing the spays rathern than the new building.
Thank you. |
| 284 | Chery Matheny | Lexington County should support Pets Incorporated's proposal. Pets Inc is a Lexington County organization with a proven track record of doing tremedous work in taking care of animals with very limited funding. Putting an extremely expensive building in a terrible location - without a long range funding plan I might add - is not good use of taxpayers money and will not provide the maximum benefit for every dollar spent. |

| 297 | Anonymous | no adoption cenetr best to spay and neuter. |
| 298 | Dan Watson | There are over ten cats living on my street in need of spay/neuter procedures who's owner(s) can not afford these services. Those cats will breed more unwanted animals. What will a new building do to fix this problem? Nothing, but more funds and education towards a solid spay/neuter program is the answer. |
