154 Libby GamblePlease, do the right thing and help control the pet population. The need for another facility could practically be eliminated if funding were available for spaying and neutering. Thank you for your consideration.

164 Shelby DouglasOffering free spaying and neutering for families who cannot afford it is the easiest solution for avoiding crowded animal shelters and unwanted pets. It is time to offer this service in the Columbia area before the number of unwanted and euthanized animals becomes even more unmanagable!

174 Susan ShawAs a homeowner in Richalnd County, I want to voice my opionion on the spay/neutre program. A pretty building is not necessary. These animals need to be spayed/neutered to control the pet population. A building is simply putting a bandaid on a problem that needs major surgery. It is a temporary solution. Spay/Neuter programs solve the problem more effectively. It is the fiscally responsible thing to do. Thank you

177 Darlene scurryI rescue unwanted pets in my area in Chapin. I have spent thousands of dollars having these animals spayed and neutered and It would be nice to help some help out here with discount surgeries.

180 Missy PorthThis makes a lot of sense and does not create overhead that the counties will have to maintain.

186 Gloria BurnsThe County should support the organization that has been there for the County when animals need to be rescued from puppy mills and other situations - that would be Pets, Inc. Pets, Inc. is a Lexington County based organization, unlike Project Pet which is registered as a Columbia-based non-profit. Lexington County is one of the State's largest counties and should start acting like it and stop shipping it's taxpayer resources across the river to Columbia-based organizations.
187 Judith L. HotchkissLet's use this tax payer money wisely and put it where it's needed. Please do the right thing here.

191 Mike DeHartThis is the most cost efective and humane way I have heard to deal with cat and dog over population. I also suggest that the land in Harbson that was going to be used for Pet Project be leased and the money used to continue the programs of Pets, Inc.

195 Marlene DawsonThis proposal is the most sensible thing I've seen in a long time.
196 Jessica MoodyPlease help with spaying and neutering, which will eliminate the need for a Project Pet facility. Support current organizations, like Pets, Inc., and take steps for the future prevention of animal cruelty and overpopulation.

198 Mandy RiberTo Lexington & Richland County Council Members Don't spend our money foolishly. We the undersigned feel there is no legitimate reason for taxpayers to provide a multi-million dollar Adoption Center for Project Pet, an organization that has never operated a shelter or a spay/neuter clinic and has no experience with development of educational programs. Overpopulation and the resulting animal suffering can only be remedied by an aggressive Spay/Neuter program. We believe that PETS, Inc. has presented an innovative and easily implemented program that will enlist the support of all area animal rescue agencies, therefore giving the taxpayers of Lexington and Richland Counties the best return for their investment. Let's do it for the animals! Over 60,000 spays will prevent far more suffering than a pretty building in Harbison. It's the right thing to do.
