Comments: Yet again kneejerk responses to the few bad owners who spoil it for the majority. Prosecute the bad owners but do not spoil it for the many, many responsible owners. There are many people whose only company is their dog and whose only form of exercise and meeting other people for a chat is when they take their dogs for a run in the local park. Think of the damage to these people alone if you think of nothing else.

Comments: Please do not impose this blanket bahn on all dogs being allowed to run off the lead. It will be enormously detrimental to the health of my well behaved dog.

Comments: This proposal in wholly unjust and unfair to the vast majority of responsible dog owners. The minority of irresponsible dog owners to whom this legislation is directed are unlikley to obey thenew laws in any case. As usual, it will be only the responsible, law-abiding citizen who is adversely impacted.

Comments: Yet another ill-thought out piece of proposed legislation, which is Draconian in its response and impacts only the law-abiding, responsible citizen. Another example of the 'if in doubt, ban it' culture we are increasingly iving under.

Comments: As a long-time dog owner and regular user of Peckham Rye, I can only endorse the above petition wholeheartedly. I would also suggest that, where possible and practical, large designated areas for non-dog lovers be considered, as I appreciate many people are (for their own reasons) quite afraid of dogs, and they have an equal right to enjoy Southwarks parks as those of us who wish to prpovide our dogs with adequate exercise and stimulus. Fair balance is all that's required, so all parties can feel they are not being persecuted.

Comments: This is a ridiculous and unnecessary course of action, it would be far cheaper to police the antisocial dog owners than to end up policing all! It is unfair to punish the majority for the behaviour of the minority.

Comments: dog walkers are in the park every day and all weathers, by being there we make the parks safer and most dogs are under control and well behaved. Dogs need to have a space to be able to run and play freely, to be tethered to a lead at all times is cruel. It is a small minority of people who would whish to bring in such a law.

Comments: I no longer have a dog, but my husband and myself regularly walk my daughters dog. She is very well behaved and a happy sociable girl. She would go mad if not allowed to run, play and sniff around. She had a very bad start in life and we have made her into what she is today, giving her daily off lead excersise as part of her "recovery" . The dog control orders already in place are adequate enough. Don't punish the majority when the minority do wrong. There are already 8 areas in Peckham rye Park where dogs are not allowed full stop or have to be on lead. We don't need anymore dog free areas. When the footballers and picnickers are out, we are limited as to where we can walk as it is. We also appreciate that some people are not dog lovers and we do respect this and keep her under control, this is why we have the 8 areas already in place.

Comments: This is a fascist ruling which curbs the feedoms of the law abiding majority in order to control the actions of the criminal few. It is an attack on our human rights and a further move towards a sterile and soulless community, But above all it is completely and absolutely UNNECCESSARY!
