Name: Anonymous on Jan 11, 2007Comments: Saigon is a place I would never visit because of their sadistic cruel treatment to all animals. They also torture and eat dogs and cats. The government needs pressure to stop this cruelty to animals or it will never stop.Flag

Name: Max on Jan 11, 2007Comments: Many independent travellers are also ethically and morally aware individuals who would be aghast that they are contributing financially to animal abuse. Lonely planet should make a positive stance against such crimes - encouraging visitors to 'avoid the back area' is condoning continued barbaric treatment to these animals. Please remove 'Dam Sem Park' from your guidebook immediately to prevent further damaging your International reputation.Flag

Name: Nicola Oliver on Jan 12, 2007Comments: Lonely Planet - Please delete any mention of Dam Sem Park (Saigon) from any future additions and perhaps use some of your profits to support a campaign against ill treatment of animals in captivity. Do not encourage tourists to add to the profits made from degrading and inhumane treatment of ani,als in captivity.Flag

Name: Sharon Hopkins on Jan 14, 2007Comments: I was horrified when I saw the video of the chained animals in this "theme park" in Saigon. It is obvious why visitors are discouraged from seeing the animals at the back of the park in these dreadful conditions. Either their environment is drastically improved or these poor creatures should be rehomed where they can be properly looked after and their needs met. These are social animals. The whole set up is DISGUSTING !!!Flag
