U.S. Currency to be backed by Precious Metals

The petition

This is a petition to repeal the Federal Reserve Act of 1913 and to back our currency with precious metals.

Throughout history, civilations and empires have fallen because of poor monetary policy. Today, the currency of the United States of America is backed by nothing except the good intentions of the Federal government.

Currently, our money supply is controlled by the Federal Reserve, a conglomerate of private for-profit banks. The ability of these banks to over-supply money to the market has caused massive inflation and has devalued the currency. This amounts to a hidden tax (inflation tax) that weakens the purchasing power of each dollar Americans earn.
