The developer agreed to keep Vallejo Street open and I am honestly stunned by how quickly things shifted once you all stepped in. This result belongs entirely to the neighborhood and I am just happy to have played a small part in keeping our streets accessible.

SOS VALLEJO has been formed to Save Our Street and provide our neighborhood a voice to express its concern and work with the Developer to come up with a design that works for everyone.
Losing Vallejo as an essential entrance and exit to North Beach/Telegraph Hill would be a HUGE impact to the circulation pattern in the neighborhood.

I am still honestly stunned by how many of you care about keeping our street open. Each message I read from neighbors reminds me that this is really your effort and not mine. The developers have noticed the activity here and we are currently working on a way to get them to listen to these concerns.

Vallejo Street being closed now for water main replacement, I can clearly see the negative impact the Piazza will have on traffic. It will be a mess.
Closing the street permanently would reek havoc with the already congested traffic in the neighborhood. It also would create problems for many patrons of Trieste and other neighborhood stores who need disabled parking .
I am a senior citizen as are most of my friends. Many of us drive to North Beach for coffee or lunch. The closing of Vallejo will take it's toll on our ability to engage in the socialization we have depended on for years as an important aspect of our mental and physical well being.
I,hope the developers of the Poets Piazza have an open mind and listen to the proposed alternative that will work for all that live and visit North Beach.
As a long time resident of north beach I am offended by the sneaky back dealings that this project sponsor/developer has chosen. They gave kept residents out of the loop at every turn because for years the residents have opposed this project. The arrogance of this pac heights developer is beyond all reason.
The process has been a complete sham!
I am 100% against this land grab of important public space by a small group of private concerns. Period.

I can't sign this because I was driven out of San Francisco by gentrification, but closing Vallejo St. between Columbus and Grant is a ridiculous proposal. Traffic circulation into and out of North Beach depends entirely on this particular block being open to two-way traffic.
