I would like our school name to be restored to Silkwood Steiner School. I believe that any change to the schools name, identity or structure should be subject to a full community consultation process.

Education through wellbeing and care was paramount in out decision to send our children to SILKWOOD STEINER SCHOOL and its philosophies. It would be a great shame indeed to lose any of this standing and recognition in society and their peers.

We, along with every other family, were asked to contribute time and money in many various forms to help the school to grow. We are proud of our contribution to what has been achieved. Over the past two years this has changed quite dramatically. School assembly is a great example of a fantastic time to build a sense of community within the school - it is as much a time for parents as it is for students. Since that does not happen on a Thursday morning anymore the sense of community has fallen away dramatically. The loss is far greater and deeper than the school administrators would ever believe. The name change would just be one more step along this path. The depth of feeling surrounding this issue is an exampe of why we chose a Steiner based education in the first place: I wanted to teach my children to lead with their heart, not their head. What example are we giving them Finally, the last, and most important thing, is that all of my children absolutely love going to school every day. I thank you for that.
