Name: Jillian Flynn on Oct 18, 2010Comments: As a teacher in the public school system at a Title 1 school in Harlem I was disheartened by the response of the DOE to my inquiry about getting compostible trays at our school. I was told we would need to raise the 3 cents extra to pay for the trays. When I inquired if the DOE had approached the manufacturer of the compostible trays to see if they would reduce the cost if they were given a contract to provide trays for the entire NCY school system I was told they were unsure if anyone had proposed that. When I continued to inquire who I could speak with regarding that possibility my emails were never answered. If Mayor Bloomberg really wants to GreeNYC by 2012 this is a huge step in the right direction. They need to put their money where all the rhetoric from their mouth is...thank you.Flag
