The Grosse Ile School Board has decided to forgo the wishes of the Grosse Ile community by making our schools open to Schools of Choice. Many of us strongly feel that this is a very bad decision for our community, schools and children. It is also not good for surrounding communities as it is taking money away from their districts. If you also feel strongly about this please sign below. We ask that you sign only once and forward to as many people as you can. Thank You!

kelli, United States3 years ago Comments: i came from a downriver city that was soc which was the main reason why i moved my family here. you didnt know who the students were or who their parents were. the parents sent their children their because they seen a new school building to take advantage of without paying a dime. needless to say the school district is in alot of trouble which could be a reflection of the community and or the parents. i feel if you want a soc program or neighboring communities to send their kids here, then they should have to pay a tuition fee. its only fair since residents here do pay higher taxes then alot of surrounding cities. or like one of the authors said, "just move here, join the community, and pay taxes".
Parent opposed to SOC, United States4 years ago Comments: Residents should not pay higher taxes and future millage increases for other areas to benefit. Reduce size of district to fit community. Otherwise it will hurt real estate values in 48138 and we will most likely re-locate our 2.
