Comments: The branch libraries are an amazing resource for our community and its residents. I urge you to explore other budgetary possibilities before considering their possible closings.

Comments: My family and I are frequent users of the library on Central street. We feel it is a vital part of our community . School groups walk there, it is part of our summer reading program. It is as important as the bank, post office, etc.

Comments: The primary goal of the library is to provide the public with reading and resource material, not necessarily programs that the community may or may not support. Please don't pad your resume at the taxpayers expense.

Comments: I'm a teacher at Kingsley School and we go to the north branch library every year with our first graders to register students to get library cards and take out books. We also go for storytelling with the fabulous Mrs. Schwartz. Families can walk to the library. Don't disappoint loyal patrons of literacy. Karen Yee Reid

Comments: North Branch Lirary continues to be an ESSENTIAL community resource--for books checked out, for a place to read, for a safe place for kids and elders . Ney is simply very, very wrong about the banch libraries!!! He was last time; he is this time.

Comments: I am a frequent user of the Evanston library north branch. I use it because it is conveniently located near my home on the 2300 block of Hartrey. If it's closed down, I won't switch to using the main library; it's just too much out of the way for me. I'd end up going to the Wilmette library or simply buying books at one of the many conveniently located book stores on the north shore. Keep reading easily accessible to all of us; keep the north and south branches open!

Comments: As a kindergarten teacher in Evanston, I believe it is important for both branches of the public library to remain open. As the population of downtown Evanston increases with the condo boom, many families want to visit libraries less crowded and closer to home.
